Led by Essen Health Chief Medical Officer Sumir Sahgal, M.D., Metro UrgiCare was conceived in 2015 as a direct response to the growing need for quick, quality care in the most underserved areas of New York. Patients of Metro UrgiCare’s two current Bronx locations enjoy the very rapid, responsive, and customized care, lauded nationwide as a healthcare staple necessity, and much-needed medical care alternative.

Like most urgent care facilities, Metro UrgiCare locations are specially designed both to expedite the healthcare process, and to offer treatment/service for health needs, that though are not life-threatening, simply cannot wait. Whether a patient is in need of a mandatory employee physical or treatment for any form of minor injury or episodic event, urgent care facilities boast an astounding patient throughput average of 60 minutes or less! Such quick quality service is statistically proven to alleviate the congestion of emergency rooms, often overcrowded with patrons who are unaware that their needs can be met with the urgent care alternative.

“I want to thank all of our esteemed guests who attended yesterday’s grand opening,” shared Metro Urgicare founder Sumir Sahgal, M.D.. “It was an honor to unite with the Brooklyn community and to celebrate the addition of our newest urgent care center, one dedicated to providing quick quality care to the Williamsburg area. The large turnout and overall enthusiasm was a testament to the overwhelming support of our urgent care center in the Brooklyn, Williamsburg area.”

Metro UrgiCare plans to open a number of additional urgent care facilities in the coming year throughout the New York area, and looks forward to providing expert, urgent medical services to children and adults in the Williamsburg and surrounding communities.
